Assiniboia Downs Returns in 2024 with Further Takeout Reductions

The Downs is cutting takeouts once more to give horseplayers a larger payout. There will be a complete 1% reduction in the Double, Exactor, Triactor, Superfecta, and Pick 5 pools.

Over the past few years, the track has decreased takeouts as part of its dedication to rewarding its devoted and expanding fan base. Players will receive larger payouts as a result of these upgrades. Responses to these actions have demonstrated that they are positively affecting the racing program's performance.

Every race night, the Pick 4 pool will begin with a $25,000 guarantee and be available for the final four races of the schedule.

Furthermore, ASD has declared that it would do away with the run-up in all races across all lengths, so establishing a new benchmark in North American racing. Across North America, there can be significant differences between the stated race distance and the actual distance from the starting gate to the finish line. Standardising each race, this action will assist bettors make more informed bets because they will always know that a horse is going to run the whole distance as posted.

As part of the Elite Indian Relay Association and the Manito Ahbee Festival, Indian Horse Relay racing will also be included in the opening day schedule. These unusual and extremely difficult races will be non-betting events on the opening night program, adding to the spectacle.

Beginning on May 20, 2024, racing at The Downs will take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings at 7:30 Central / 8:30 Eastern.
