Attention will be on Thats Hooligan

Exciting news for harness racing enthusiasts! The Hippodrome 3R (H3R) in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, is set to introduce Friday twilight racing to its schedule starting tomorrow, June 7. Racing aficionados can look forward to action-packed Fridays through September 20, except August 9. The post time is locked in for 4:00 pm.

Kicking off the Friday line-up will be an electrifying program featuring eight races, including the 5th race Preferred Trot feature. Among the contenders are three former Quebec-bred champions—Kenogami Coco (post 2), Timonier (post 3), and Only For Justice (post 5)—adding prestige to the field.

All eyes will be on Thats Hooligan (Rose Run Hooligan), the morning line race favourite, positioned at post seven and driven by Marie-Claude Auger. This eight-year-old gelding, owned and trained by Peter Lepage of St-Liguori, has maintained an unblemished record in 2024, clinching two consecutive victories at H3R. Both triumphs showcased his tenacity with tough first-over efforts, clocking his fastest at 2:00.

Also returning to the field as a victor is Miles Of Muscles, starting from post one and steered by driver Robert Shepherd. Last week, this five-year-old gelding displayed sheer grit, leading wire-to-wire and triumphing by a neck in 2:01.3.

On Sunday, H3R continues its live racing action with a post time of noon. The highlight of the day will be the 10th race Preferred Pace, featuring Mohawk Park's Thong Control (Control The Moment) making his Quebec debut. Trained by Jean Tourigny, this four-year-old gelding will be guided from the rail by Marie-Claude Auger. Earlier this season, he showcased his prowess with a lifetime best mile of 1:51.1 at Mohawk Park.

Adding to the excitement is Kiss Me Bad (post 4), one of three mares in the field. In her last outing, she surged past the competition on the backstretch, effortlessly securing victory in 1:56.2 under the guidance of owner, trainer, and driver Steven Gagnon.
