After her impressive win in the Resolute Racing Madison (G1), Brett Brinkman's trained Alva Starr will continue to stay at Keeneland while Brinkman strategizes the next steps for his talented runner.
"For the time being, she will remain here," Brinkman stated. "I am strategizing for the optimal locations for her, taking into account the Ballerina (G1) at Saratoga on August 24."
One possible destination is the Derby City Distaff (G1), with a prize of $1 million, which will take place on May 4 at Churchill Downs as part of the Kentucky Derby undercard.
"She is being considered for that, and we will determine the details for Derby Week," Brinkman stated. She's a young horse who enjoys sprinting away from her enclosure. Additionally, you can find the Winning Colours (G3) race on May 27.
In the Resolute Racing Madison, Alva Starr, a 4-year-old Lord Nelson filly, surged ahead in the middle of the stretch and maintained her lead to win by half a length over Vahva, turning the tables on last year's Lexus Raven Run (G2) outcome.
