Brody's Scrapper Secures 60th Victory at Flamboro Downs

Brody's Scrapper, a son of Mach Three, notched his 60th career victory and sixth of the season on Thursday evening at Flamboro Downs.

Jason Ryan skillfully guided the 13-year-old gelding into the third position at the quarter pole, maintaining a strategic position until the half-mile marker in 57.1. With six contenders in the field, Ryan and Brody's Scrapper made their move approaching the clubhouse turn. Swiftly seizing the lead before the backstretch, they maintained a commanding pace for the remainder of the mile, securing a victory that would be Ryan's sole triumph of the night.

Despite a late attempt at a rally from My Land, the gelding fell short on track and settled for second place, with St Lads Flirt finishing approximately five lengths behind in third.

Having triumphed in six out of eight starts this year, Brody's Scrapper has predominantly thrived under the tutelage of trainer Jodie Cullen. However, following his most recent performance, he was claimed by Jimmy Polifroni and subsequently entrusted to the care of trainer Isaac Waxman for the race in question. Brody's Scrapper's exceptional form has garnered significant attention, leading to another claim, this time by Francis Guillemette.

Amongst the drivers at Flamboro Downs, Samuel Fillion and Travis Henry stood out with multiple victories during the event. Fillion steered the three-year-old pacing gelding Farmers Beach (Sunshine Beach) to a winning time of 2:02 in the third race, and later guided Instantaneous (Always B Miki) to a swift 1:55.2 finish in the ninth race.

Henry clinched his first victory of the evening in the eighth race, orchestrating a winning performance clocking in at 2:01.2 with Lions Wish NL (Muscle Mass). He then proceeded to secure another victory in the tenth race with the pacer Restive Spirit (Mcwicked).

Racing enthusiasts can look forward to the upcoming schedule at Flamboro Downs, with the next event set for Saturday, Mar. 2, at 6:35 p.m. EST.
