Charge It Launches Westchester's 2024 Campaign

The homebred at Whisper Hill Farm Charge It In the $175,000 Westchester Stakes (G3) for 4-year-olds and up at Aqueduct Racetrack's Belmont at the Big A meet on May 3, it opens the door to his 2024 season.
The son of Tapit will be competing in his sixth mile race, a distance that has proven difficult for him. He's won twice. Charge It Going over a mile, in particular, it is a strong late-race runner. He simply loses track at eight furlongs.
His career began with two maiden special weight attempts. He has only won once after then, in the 2022 Dwyer Stakes (G3). He finished fourth in both the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and the Metropolitan Handicap (G1), and second in the Gulfstream Park Mile Stakes (G2).
Charge It faced off against National Treasure, Senor Buscador, Proxy, White Abarrio, and Horse of the Year Cody's Wish three times last year. It could provide Charge It a clearer route to triumph because none of them are in the way in Westchester.
While Dr. Ardito, a trainee under Chad Brown, may not have Charge It's experience in a grade 1 company, he has achieved greater accomplishment at a mile.
Six of the eleven outings made by the 6-year-old Liam's Map gelding have resulted in wins. The Alex M. Robb Stakes is the most recent of five victories that have occurred on the dirt of Aqueduct.
Whittington Park, Adero, Winit, Messier, and Post Time complete the field. Adero, Winit, and Whittington Park are aiming for their first win at graded stakes. Post Time prevailed in the Carter Stakes (G2) on his final try.
