The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced that due to a contractual dispute, all NYRA content will no longer be available on TVG/FanDuel wagering platforms effective immediately.
The disagreement centres around the terms for renewing the wagering agreement between NYRA and TVG/FanDuel. NYRA is seeking to increase the funds flowing to the sport and its stakeholders in New York.
As a result of this impasse, pari-mutuel wagering and live video from the Belmont at the Big A spring/summer meet will not be available on TVG/FanDuel platforms.
NYRA emphasised its mission to conduct world-class racing and support the state's economy, stating it will continue negotiations to seek a fair resolution. The FanDuel Group expressed regret over the inconvenience to customers but stated they cannot agree to the new proposed terms, which are substantially inconsistent with previous agreements.
Key figures in the New York thoroughbred racing industry, including the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association and the New York Thoroughbred Breeders, have expressed support for NYRA's efforts to secure fair compensation for the racing product.
While NYRA content is no longer available on TVG/FanDuel, it can still be accessed through NYRA Bets, the official wagering platform of Belmont at the Big A. Wagering is also available via other platforms such as Caesars Racebook and BetMGM.
The Belmont at the Big A spring/summer meet will continue through July 7, after which live racing will shift to Saratoga Race Course for the summer meet.
NYRA and TVG/FanDuel's negotiation outcomes will be closely watched, as they will significantly impact the availability and distribution of New York racing content to a national audience.
