Ellis Achieves Four-Win Streak at Century Mile
Trainer Travis Ellis dominated the Saturday (Dec. 14) card at Century Mile, securing victories in four consecutive races and claiming half of the program’s events. This impressive achievement further solidified Ellis as the track’s leading harness racing trainer.
The winning streak began in the opener, where Trust Me A Lot delivered a commanding performance under driver Mike Hennessy. Starting last in the field of six, the filly surged to the front before the third marker and pulled away by eight lengths to finish in 1:57.2, marking her eighth career win.
In the fourth race, the Ellis-Hennessy duo struck again with Chaseisonthecase. The six-year-old stallion established a dominant early lead and held off a late challenger to win by half a length in 1:54.2.
Ellis continued his momentum in the fifth with Flying Officer, driven by Nathan Sobey. The gelding earned his 25th career victory, crossing the line in 1:57.2.
The grand slam was completed in the sixth race by Tajmania. Guided by Sobey, the gelding led from start to finish, securing his own 25th career win in 1:55.3.
Ellis’s four-win evening brought his Century Mile season tally to 30 victories, extending his lead over Sobey, who remains second in the trainer standings. With an overall success rate of 20.3% this season, Ellis has achieved 70 wins from 345 starts.
Racing at Century Mile resumes on Friday, December 20.
