Ervin Extends Winning Streak with Dominant Mohawk Performance

Ervin Hanover demonstrated his remarkable form by securing a fourth consecutive victory in the $36,000 Preferred Pace at Mohawk on Saturday, December 14. Returning from a 28-day layoff, the four-year-old stallion continued his streak with an impressive performance under driver Louis-Philippe Roy.

As the 1-9 favourite, Ervin Hanover initially settled outside Poseidon Seelster before taking control of the six-horse field after the opening quarter. Leading comfortably through moderate fractions of :28.3 and :57.4, the pace quickened in the second half when Powertrain launched a first-over move. Despite this challenge, Ervin Hanover surged forward, delivering a powerful :25.1 final quarter to win by 3-1/2 lengths in a time of 1:51.

Trained by David Menary and owned by Pollack Racing, Ervin Hanover has now achieved eight wins in 25 starts this year, earning $146,866. The Captaintreacherous stallion surpassed $500,000 in career earnings with this victory, marking the 16th win of his career. Roy, who has guided the horse throughout his streak, tallied four wins on the 12-race card.

In other highlights, Brudon rebounded in the Valedictory Series second leg, capturing a $17,000 division under James MacDonald with a gate-to-wire victory in 1:53. Another division saw Wallace Hartley prevail by a head in 1:52.3 after a strong late surge. Both horses are set to compete in the $30,000 Valedictory Final on December 26 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
