Fasig-Tipton Recent Sale Achieves $4,296,200

The Fasig-Tipton July Digital Sale wrapped up on Tuesday night, showcasing a diverse digital catalogue that included 2-year-olds, racing-age horses, breeding stock, weanlings, yearlings, and a stallion prospect. A total of 161 horses were sold, generating $4,296,200 in revenue. Complete results can be found on Fasig-Tipton's website.

“This was our first July Digital Sale, and we are extremely pleased with the outcome,” stated Leif Aaron, Director of Digital Sales at Fasig-Tipton. “The sale was robust, featuring record participation from both buyers and sellers, and we achieved an impressive clearance rate of 83 percent.”

The highlight of the sale was graded stakes winner Nadette (Fr) (Outstrip {GB}), who fetched $420,000, purchased by Stepaside Farm LLC. Offered by Team Valor International as a racing or broodmare prospect, Nadette is currently at Colonial Downs, where she secured victory in the Beverly D. Preview Stakes on July 13 and is nominated for the GII Beverly D. Stakes on August 10, a Breeders' Cup “Win and You're In” qualifier.

“Team Valor is delighted with the sale of Nadette,” remarked Barry Irwin, CEO of Team Valor. “A couple of years ago, we shifted our business model to adopt a more commercial approach. Instead of keeping horses until the end of their racing careers, we aim to sell them while they still have racing potential. For fillies and mares, it's generally more advantageous to market them as racing prospects rather than broodmares. This strategy has proven beneficial for our partners.”

The sale featured a mix of horses, including 22 yearlings, six weanlings, 25 mares with foals-at-foot, 38 broodmares, and 60 racehorses.

Other notable sales included Right Prevails (Successful Appeal), sold for $310,000 to Sequel New York, consigned by the Lakin Estate & Thomas Partnership. This mare, a full-sister to SW & MGISP Closing Argument, was sold with her New York-foaled colt by Jackie's Warrior for 2024 and was in foal to Forte. Another standout was One Front War (War Front), which was purchased for $220,000 by Maker from the consignment of Four Star Sales, agent. The 3-year-old filly had a strong debut at Woodbine, finishing second on July 11.

The next digital offering from Fasig-Tipton, the August Digital Sale, will open for bidding on Thursday, August 22, and conclude on Tuesday, August 27. Nominations are currently being accepted, with the deadline for entries set for August 14.
