First victory of Lu's Time at Prairie Meadows
Lu's Time achieved her maiden victory on August 25 at Prairie Meadows, becoming the inaugural winner for freshman sire Timeline. The bay filly secured her win by a nose in the ninth race at Prairie Meadows, adding to her pedigree as the fifth winner out of her dam, Beautiful Lu, a Gone West mare bred in Kentucky by Marathon Farms. The race was expertly navigated by jockey Alberto Pusac, under the training of Timothy Martin, who co-owns the filly with breeder Jashua Robinson.
Timeline, a multiple-graded stakes victor, is a son of Hard Spun and is out of the Empire Maker mare Azorina. He was bred in Kentucky by Helen Alexander, Helen Groves, and Dorothy Matz. After being purchased for $500,000 as a yearling by Woodford Racing at the Keeneland September Sale, Timeline joined trainer Chad Brown's stable. As a 3-year-old, he triumphed in the 2017 Peter Pan Stakes (G3) at Belmont Park and the Pegasus Stakes (G3) at Monmouth Park.
In 2019, Timeline transitioned to the barn of trainer Steve Asmussen and was privately sold to Clark Brewster prior to his final race that season. He concluded his career with five wins from 17 starts, amassing earnings of $432,217.
Beginning his stud career in 2021, Timeline stood for the 2024 season at Iowa State University Horse Farm with a fee of $1,500.
