Four victories from the eight races held

Big Day at Hastings for Froelich and Condilenios. Owner Jordan Froelich and trainer Dino Condilenios formed a powerful duo on July 20 at Hastings, capturing four victories from the eight races held, including the day's feature event.

- Owner Wins: Jordan Froelich celebrated four victories.

- Trainer Triumphs: Dino Condilenios boasted four training wins.

- Jockey Successes: Silvino Morales secured three riding victories, while Kerron Khelawan scored twice.

- Handle Figures: A noteworthy handle of $974,073 was recorded for the day.

The feature race saw Froelich’s horse CEREBRO ($8.20) lead from the start. Morales guided him through controlled fractions, and the horse secured an easy win in a time of 1:16.99. Canyon Farm’s BACK SHACK put in a commendable effort to finish second for trainer Craig MacPherson, while STAR ENTRY from J G Williamson Racing salvaged third.

The final race of the card capped off a sensational day for Froelich and Condilenios as BETTER TONE ($17.30) showcased a strong late run after a slow start, pulling away to win in a time of 1:46.50. The competition was fierce, with ACCORDINGLY finishing a game second and DIVAANY taking third.

Exciting Stakes Action at Assiniboia Downs 

Meanwhile, Assiniboia Downs featured thrilling performances in several stakes races:

- Mr Fillip's Victory: The early favourite for the Manitoba Derby, MR FILLIP (Mitole), displayed versatility and strength in winning the $50,000 Derby Trial by six lengths under jockey Antonio Whitehall. After transferring from trainer Robertino Diodoro’s barn to Rick Wise’s, Mr. Fillip has quickly established himself as a frontrunner for the upcoming Derby.

- Jack Hardy Stakes Upset: In the $50,000 Jack Hardy Stakes, Midnight Lady triumphed at 6-1 odds, outpacing favourites She’s My Niece and Zorina in a dramatic finish. This win propelled trainer Lee Delaronde to the top of the active trainers' leaderboard with 14 victories.

- R. J. Speers Memorial: Trainer Mike Nault scored a significant win with longshot Blazing Bo (12-1) in the $50,000 R. J. Speers Memorial, proving his resilience with a late rally that outpaced the favourites.

- Canada Stakes Standout: Four-year-old filly Spitten Kitten wowed fans with a commanding victory in the $50,000 Canada Stakes, leading from the start and securing a comfortable win. Trainer Marvin Buffalo's management of Spitten Kitten has been exceptional, showcasing their strong bond, highlighted by their heartfelt celebration in the winner’s circle.
