Givens Doubles in DSBF Action

Trainer Les Givens dominated the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) action at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday, November 20, as Little Miss Peyton and Bella Artiste scored repeat victories in their respective $28,169 second-round splits. Meanwhile, Majorca N delivered a thrilling win in the Mares Open Handicap Pace, continuing her strong rivalry with Incaseyoudidntknow.  

DSBF Highlights 

- Little Miss Peyton (Corey Callahan) took the first division by a neck in 1:55.2, fending off a challenge from Tilted Crown (Russell Foster). The filly, a homebred by Papa Ray out of Armbro Cashmere, earned her seventh win of the year for owner Donna Messick. She paid $2.10 to win.  

- In the second split, Bella Artiste (Jim Morand) led wire-to-wire in 1:56.3, holding off Valentina Station (Eddie Dennis) by 1-3/4 lengths. Owned by Nanticoke Racing, Arthur Feeney, and Chad Tate, the Badlands Hanover filly secured her fifth career win, paying $2.60.  

- Immaculate Inning, trained by Jim King Jr., made a bold mid-race move to claim the third division in a lifetime-best 1:57.1 with Tim Tetrick in the bike. The filly, bred and owned by Jo Ann Looney-King, paid $2.80.

In the featured Mares Open Handicap Pace, Majorca N (Corey Callahan) delivered a commanding performance, fending off a strong stretch challenge from Elektra A to win in 1:51. Incaseyoudidntknow, the 3-5 favourite, broke stride due to a broken hopple, leaving Majorca N clear to secure victory.  

Owned by Mike Casalino Jr. and Dylan Davis Racing and trained by Dylan Davis, the mare notched another win in her heated rivalry with Incaseyoudidntknow.  

Driver Highlights 

- Tim Tetrick registered five wins for the second consecutive night.  

- Corey Callahan also performed well in a four-win situation.  

Thursday, November 21, will feature the Progress Pace Elimination for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings, with a $35,000 purse. The top eight finishers will advance to the $250,000 Final on November 27. Additionally, the $110,000 DSBF Final for three-year-old male pacers will be contested as the fourth race. The first post time is 4:30 p.m. EST.
