Goshen Yearling Sale Starts on Monday, September 9

The highly anticipated 2024 Goshen Yearling Sale is set to commence today (Monday, September 9) at the Mark Ford Training Center in Middletown, New York, starting at noon. This year, 84 horses are available, with 62 of them being New York-bred, making the event essential for anyone interested in competing in the lucrative New York Sire Stakes next season. Among the offerings are offspring from many leading New York sires, including 13 by Huntsville, eight by Courtly Choice, four by American Ideal, four by Devious Man, and one by Chapter Seven. Additionally, the New York-bred yearlings will be eligible for significant purse increases announced by the Agriculture and New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund for the coming year.

Farm managers have shared insights about their consignments and highlighted standout yearlings:

Steve Jones - Cameo Hills Farm

"We are proud to present our largest consignment ever at Goshen—43 horses, which includes both those bred at our farm and those we represent as agents. We have options for every buyer: 25 New York-breds, 12 New Jersey-breds, and six Pennsylvania-breds. Our pacers feature 10 by Huntsville, seven by So Surreal, and more from top sires like American Ideal and Courtly Choice. Our trotters include a noteworthy colt, Oppenheimer (Hip #50), by leading trotting stallion Chapter Seven, whose dam, Bambino Supreme, is a sister to Six Pack. We're excited to showcase the first colt from Certified Ideal (Hip #69), named Aggieville, and other standout yearlings including a Huntsville filly, Hunt For Madonna (Hip #52), and numerous trotters by Devious Man, Mets Hall, and E L Titan."

David Hanson - Leatherstocking Equine

"This year’s selection features several impressive horses with siblings currently finding success on the racetrack. Horses such as Oh No Question (Hip #25), Tin Roof Rusted (Hip #41), and Winkys Boy (Hip #55) all come from winning family lines. We’re also thrilled to present yearlings from the first crop of The Veteran, including Private Benjamin (Hip #65), which are outstanding individuals out of proven producers."

Jean Brown - Blue Chip Farm

"Our consignment showcases a wonderful variety of first foals alongside yearlings from established producers. Notable entries include Arolndahaybluechip (Hip #63) and American Billinair (Hip #78), both first foals from $100,000-winning mares, and talented siblings such as Greenpoint Girl (Hip #71) and Arya Blue Chip (Hip #42). We’re also offering yearlings by top sires like Huntsville, Devious Man, E L Titan, and Credit Winner."
