Graceful Horizon, who has won five out of her seven races this year, and Kamara, who has achieved a hat trick at the top level, are the main attractions in Friday evening's co-featured Distaff Open and Open Pace at Cal Expo.
Watch and Wager LLC will present a 10-race program with the first race scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
Owned by Set The Pace Racing LLC and trained and driven by Nick Roland, Graceful Horizon has proven her ability to win races from various positions. Whether it be leading from the front, tracking the leaders, or coming from behind, she has shown her versatility in her victories this season. Starting from the outside post six, she is the morning line favourite at odds of 8-5 in the $7,500 Mares Opens.
Kamara enters the co-featured $8,000 Open Pace in excellent form for owner Gregory Gardner, trainer Darryl Cutting, and driver Jake Cutting. Once again, he will have to overcome the outside post in a field of nine. He is the 7-2 morning line favorite.
Looking ahead to Sunday's action, two $20,000 California Sire Stakes races for four-year-old pacers will be the highlights of the 5:35 p.m. program.
