Harris grabs the show on the first day of Hanover

J. Bradley Harris, a harness racing driver, won five of the ten races in the 10-race schedule on Saturday, June 1, to earn his spot in the winner's circle.

As soon as he led Century Havana (Control The Moment) to a first-up 1:59.2 victory in the first, he assumed the lead in the drivers' standings. This season, it was the mare's first triumph in twenty attempts.

It wasn't until the sixth that Harris prevailed again, steering Moonwalker (All Bets Off). As they approached the third station, he threw the gelding three wide, and Moonwalker flew to the lead, winning by one length in 1:58.4. In 2024, Moonwalker had not won either, but she was coming off three consecutive third-place results.

Then in the last three races, the reinsman pulled off a natural hat trick. Rose Run Vortex (American Ideal, 1:59.4), Delightful Magic (Bettors Delight, 1:59), and Rambaran Rose (Rambaran, 1:59.3) were the ones that brought him victory.

At Hanover, Harris has already surpassed his three-win total from 2023. In each of the eight calls that afternoon, he received checks.

For the three-year-old colt pacers, Moonwalker and Jimmy Whispers (Big Jim, Jason Ryan, 1:58.3) won the Prospect Series divisions of leg 1B.
