After tracking Major Key through a :27 first quarter, driver Jonathan Ahle moved the 2-5 favourite Im The Prince to the front on the second turn. The five-year-old gelding by Luck Be Withyou and Move On B B then pulled away from the field, posting a :27.3 third quarter to establish a five-length lead as they turned for home. Despite a late challenge from Cruise Patrol, Im The Prince secured the win by 2-1/2 lengths, finishing in 1:53.3. Major Key took third place.
Trained by Eli Scott, Im The Prince is owned by Donald and John Hawk. This win marked his ninth career victory.
William Carter led all drivers with three wins on the 11-race card, while Jonathan Ahle and Trae Porter each recorded a double.
