In the NTRA Three-Year-Old Poll, Seize the Grey Moves Up to Third

MyRacehorse's Seize the Grey, who stunned the field in the Preakness Stakes (G1) at Pimlico Race Course on May 18, has shot up to third place in the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Top 3-Year-Old Poll. Following Mystik Dan and Sierra Leone, the 1-2 finishers from the May 4 Kentucky Derby (G1) at Churchill Downs, is the D. Wayne Lukas trainee.

The June 8 Belmont Stakes (G1), the third and final leg of the Triple Crown, may see some, if not all, of the top trio face off.

The Belmont will be held at Saratoga Race Course this year because Belmont Park is still undergoing redevelopment. The event will be conducted at 1 1/4 miles, rather than the traditional 1 1/2 miles because Saratoga's track layout differs from Belmont Park's.

Fourth in the rankings, ahead of fifth-place Forever Young, the show finisher from the Run for the Roses, is Catching Freedom, who finished fourth in the Derby and third in the Preakness, right behind Mystik Dan, the runner-up.

In the NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll, which includes horses vying for Horse of the Year, the top three remain unaltered.

First place goes to Late-running Senor Buscador, the winner of the Saudi Cup (G1), then Idiomatic, the mare who won the La Troienne Stakes (G1) in her seasonal bow, and National Treasure, the winner of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1). Master of the Seas and  First Mission complete the top five.
