Island Beach Boy Leads
The spotlight shines on Island Beach Boy as he takes centre stage in the Tuesday evening feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway. With a stellar overnight harness racing program on the cards, the western oval is set to host 13 dashes, commencing at 6 P.M.
In the $3,500 featured pace, Island Beach Boy emerges as the morning line favourite, starting from post 5 with driver Brodie MacPhee, under the guidance of trainer Tom Weatherbie and owners Ian Smith and Arnold Hagen. The six-year-old Somebeachsomewhere pacer narrowly missed victory in his last outing at Red Shores Charlottetown, displaying impressive speed with fractions of 1:55.1.
However, Island Beach Boy faces formidable competition in the field of eight contenders, including Rollwithhottytoddy, driven by Myles Heffernan Sr., starting from post 6 for owner-trainer Trevor Hicken. Having showcased exceptional form during the Winter Meet in Charlottetown, Rollwithhottytoddy aims to make a triumphant return after a brief hiatus.
Adding to the excitement, past Gold Cup and Saucer finalist Bettim Again, under the reins of Adam Merner, starts from post 7 for trainer Jeff Lilley. Meanwhile, Spectrum Seelster, guided by David Dowling and representing the Jennifer Doyle stable, commands post 8 after competing at the Preferred level this season.
Sauble Attack, with Ken Murphy in the driver's seat for trainer Paul Biggar, secures post 3, while Melody Maker, piloted by Corey MacPherson, sets off from post 4 for trainer Greg Macinnis.
The Backstretch Beat tips Rollwithhottytoddy for a triumphant return, noting his strong performance in his May 18 debut and expressing confidence in trainer Hicken's ability to prepare him for victory in the Tuesday evening feature.
