Kentucky Racing Spotlight

The Kentucky Racing Spotlight will be returning on July 12 on ESPN 680, with Louie Rabaut hosting a special edition on June 29 to preview the Stephen Foster Day card. Presented by the Kentucky HBPA, the show will air weekly on Fridays from 6-7 p.m. ET starting on July 12.

Before the regular schedule resumes, Rabaut will host a special edition on Saturday morning from 11-noon ET to preview Churchill Downs' Stephen Foster Day card. The show can be heard on ESPN Louisville's 680AM/105.7FM, with streaming available on www.espnlouisville.com and through various apps.

During the show on July 3, Rabaut will feature interviews connected to Ellis Park in advance of their meet opening the following day. On Saturday's special Stephen Foster edition, Rabaut will have Cherie DeVaux as a guest, who has four runners in the stakes on the Foster card.

Kentucky Racing Spotlight first aired last February and is sponsored by the Kentucky HBPA. The show also includes previews of major stakes races across the country, with a focus on Kentucky. The show is pre-recorded and launches on Thursday evenings as part of "The Horse Racing Happy Hour" podcast hosted by Rabaut and Mike Gandolfo.

Rabaut expressed his excitement to talk with racing participants in the Commonwealth and looks forward to discussing Ellis and Kentucky Downs throughout the summer. The show replaces Inside Churchill Downs for the summer and winter hiatus, with the last show airing this Friday.

The Kentucky HBPA's executive director, Alex Foley, expressed his satisfaction with the show's reception and looks forward to its return on July 12. In today's media landscape, it is important for horse racing to create its own coverage, and the Kentucky HBPA is proud to partner with Louie and ESPN 680 to promote horse racing in Kentucky.
