Lexus Angel, a sibling to The Big M's latest record-breaking horse, Lexus Kody, has been making impressive progress in her promising journey. The Shannon Henry student made her latest start on Thursday (April 11) in the $18,000 Ontario Sired Spring Series Trot for sophomore trotting fillies at Woodbine Mohawk Park, a winning one.
The race card at the Campbellville oval featured three divisions of the first leg of the series, each with a $18,000 purse. Two pace splits were added to the Lexus Angel's trot division. The Spring Series in Ontario welcomes talented trotters and pacers who hail from Ontario and are in their second year of competition. Eligibility requires that these horses have yet to achieve victory in races with a purse of $30,000 or more in the year 2023.
Go all in Marilyn (Louis-Philippe Roy) surged ahead in the beginning, reaching the opening panel in :27.4, with Enchanted Angel (Bob McClure) close behind in second place and Lexus Angel (Trevor Henry) trailing in third. Henry skillfully guided Lexus Angel to the outer lane, propelling them to take the lead with a powerful surge. They placed two additional panels in :58.4 and 1:29, picking up speed in the last quarter to secure a victory by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:57.1. Marilyn gave it her all and came in second, while Enchanted Angel rounded out the top three.
Lexus Angel, also known as Archangel-Lexus Helios, is currently under the ownership of Trevor Henry Stables Inc. and Norm Dunstan. With five starts under her belt, she has managed to achieve an impressive career record of 3-1-0-1. She gave back $4.30 to the people who supported her.
