Marvin Hagler Dominates Western Fair Feature Race from Start to Finish

Marvin Hagler, the talented five-year-old gelding owned by Mary Pedden and Mark Macquarrie, stole the spotlight on Wednesday evening, February 14, at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.

Displaying his prowess from start to finish, Hagler dominated the $8,000 conditioned trot and etched a new lifetime mark in the process.

Under the skilful guidance of driver Brett MacDonald and trainer Mark Macquarrie, Hagler wasted no time in taking the lead. Unyielding in their pursuit of victory, the dynamic duo dictated the pace, delivering swift quarter-mile markers of :28.4, :58.2, and 1:27.2. As the race reached its climax, Hagler enjoyed a comfortable 4-1/2 length advantage, leaving his competitors in his wake.

Despite a commendable effort from Johnny Buckshot, who valiantly charged from an outside position, Hagler's lead proved insurmountable. Crossing the finish line with a career-best time of 1:57.1, Hagler sealed the win with a commanding 1-1/4 length margin. Jayport Hi Class rounded out the top three, securing a spot in the triactor.

Marvin Hagler, a son of Crazed and Showmeyourmuscles, has been a lucrative asset for his owners, accumulating a total of $137,345 in earnings. With an impressive track record of 18 victories in 63 starts, including two wins in six outings this year, Hagler continues to showcase his exceptional talent on the racing circuit.
