NYRA was appointed by the NJ wagering system for horse racing

Darby Development, representing the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, has appointed NYRA Bets as the managing vendor for New Jersey’s online and mobile parimutuel account wagering system for horse racing.

Additionally, all account wagering platforms can enter the New Jersey market, contingent upon receiving approval from NYRA Bets, Darby Development, and the New Jersey Horse Racing Commission.

As a result, residents of New Jersey will soon have the option to select from various account wagering platforms.

NYRA Bets serves as the official advance-deposit wagering platform for the New York Racing Association. Launched in 2016, it is currently available to customers in 36 states across the country.

Darby Development operates Monmouth Park along with off-track wagering facilities in Hillsborough and Woodbridge, N.J.

“This is a win for the patrons in New Jersey, allowing them to have choices for the first time as to which site they prefer to wager with,” said Dennis Drazin, chairman and CEO of Darby Development. “It’s another step in our ongoing effort to make the racing experience in New Jersey as fan-friendly as we possibly can.”

Subject to approval from the New Jersey Racing Commission, NYRA Bets will work with online, mobile, and sportsbook operators to establish a launch date later this year.

“We are pleased to usher in a new era for horseplayers in New Jersey,” NYRA Bets president Tony Allevato said. “As the sports betting market continues its rapid evolution, the expansion of NYRA Bets into New Jersey will benefit consumers by increasing competition. It’s a win for New Jersey, for horse racing and for NYRA Bets.”

4NJBets, operated by TVG, will continue to provide online and mobile wagering services in New Jersey without any disruption.
