Overview of Saffie Joseph Jr.'s Breeders' Cup Aspirants

Saffie Joseph Jr. is experiencing a landmark year in horse racing, with earnings surpassing $14 million and 12 graded-stakes victories. He attributes his success to a dedicated team and high-quality horses, stating, "Everything's going well. We've got around the same number (of horses), but we’ve just got more quality." During a recent Horse Racing Nation barn visit, Joseph shared updates on several of his horses as they prepared for the prestigious Breeders' Cup.

Among his notable contenders is Skippylongstocking, who has earned over $3 million this year, aiming for the Dirt Mile after a solid campaign. Additionally, Soul of an Angel, a five-year-old mare, has two significant wins this year and is set for the Filly & Mare Sprint after a successful seven-furlong test.

Honor D Lady will make her Breeders' Cup Distaff appearance after a solid win in the Delaware Handicap, while the four-year-old Batucada enters the same race following a strong showing in the Beldame.

Joseph also highlighted younger talent, including The Queens M G, who is slated for a run in the Tempted Stakes at Aqueduct. With a focus on upcoming races and continued training, Joseph remains optimistic about his horses’ performances as they head into this crucial season.
