Racetracks Nationwide Honour PDJF on July 27

In recognition of National Disability Independence Day, racetracks across the United States will celebrate and raise awareness and funds for the Jockeys' Guild and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF) during the week of July 27.

This Saturday, racetracks will host various events, while others that do not feature live racing on that day will participate on different dates throughout the week. Racing fans and industry members are invited to contribute to the PDJF through their website at www.PDJF.org.

"I’m truly grateful for the support I’ve received from this sport and racing fans both before and after my injury in 1978," stated Triple Crown-winning jockey Ron Turcotte. "I take great pride in my association with the PDJF and the essential assistance it offers to permanently disabled jockeys. This invaluable work relies heavily on the backing of jockeys and everyone involved in organising Jockeys Across America Day at racetracks nationwide."

Jockeys are anticipated to engage in various activities in support of the PDJF, honouring National Disability Independence Day, which commemorates the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
