Record Of Supreme Rockette in the Atlantic Sires Stakes

A thrilling Sunday afternoon harness racing program at Red Shores Summerside Raceway saw Supreme Rockette (E L Rocket) make history in the Atlantic Sires Stakes.

The two-year-old filly, Supreme Rockette, was untouchable in her $12,520 Atlantic Sires Stakes division, setting a new track record for rookie trot fillies with a time of 2:01.3. Mike McGuigan trains and drives the standout filly, owned by Jamie Whalen of Avondale. Supreme Rockette's performance eclipsed the previous 2:01.4 record held by Dusty Lane Wee.

In the other $12,520 two-year-old trot division, West River Jet (E L Rocket), driven by Ken MacDonald, claimed victory with a time of 2:01 for trainer Clare MacDonald and owner Haley MacDonald.

The three-year-old trot divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes saw Gettin Lit (E L Rocket) triumph in 2:00.2 for trainer-driver McGuigan and owner Whalen, while Rocket Blast (Corey MacPherson) took the second division in 2:01.2 for owner-trainer Carl Bagnall of Stratford.

In pacing action, Badgirl Bridgette (Stonebridge Terror) extended her winning streak to four with a commanding win in a $17,600 A-division for two-year-old pacing fillies, stopping the clock at 1:56.4. William Lanigan trains and owns the filly, with Jason Hughes in the sulky.

Howmac Maleficent (Malicious) caused a mild upset at 5-1, winning the other $17,600 A-division in 1:59 for trainer Joe Baxter and owner Peter Garnet Gilby of Nova Scotia.

In the $6,000 B-divisions for two-year-old pacing fillies, Mindbodyandsoul (Malicious) won in 1:59.3 for trainer Earl Watts, Lady Llamrei took her division in 2:00 for trainer-driver Adam Merner, and Lorne Valley Liv (Myles Heffernan Sr.) won her race in 2:00.4 for trainer Myles Heffernan Jr.

Malevolent (Malicious) captured a $19,880 A-division for two-year-old pacing colts in 1:56.4 for owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille, while Rosetown Eclipse (Bet The Moon) secured the other $19,880 A-division with a 1:57.4 win at 11-1 odds for owners Jim Gorman, Rosetown Stable, and Mike Gorman.

The $6,000 B-divisions for rookie pacing colts were won by Starship Slx (David Dowling) in 1:59.3 for trainer Watts and Chromed Up (Dowling) in 2:00.3 for Chris MacKay's barn.
