Ruleen Ruth passed away at age 64

Ruleen Ruth (McCallum) Lilley of Dutton, Ont., passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2024, at 64. She is remembered by her husband Jeffery Malcolm Lilley, their sons Alex and Gerald, and grandchildren Coral, Jate, Sadie, and Connor Lilley.

Predeceased by her parents Margaret Jane (Campbell) McCallum and Alexander Bruce McCallum, she is also fondly remembered by her sisters Marion (Jim) Rose, Nancy (Dave) Gowan, Jennifer McCallum, and Catherine McCallum (Pat Aarts), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Raised on a farm, Ruleen thrived in farm life and 4-H activities. She met Jeff Lilley at Mac Lilley Farms in 1981, and they married in 1982. They enjoyed careers in horse training and racing across North America.

Ruleen was involved with Standardbred Canada and West Elgin Mutual Insurance Company. She was proud of her community contributions, including hosting events and creating the play “The Dunwich Scotch” for Canada’s 150th anniversary.

A celebration of life was held before her passing.
