Resolute Racing's John Stewart has made a significant move by transferring his A$3.2 million acquisition, the MG1SP Tutta La Vita (The Autumn Sun), to the United States under the guidance of trainer Ignacio Correas. This decision comes after Stewart's venture into the Australian market, where he invested A$5.44 million on six yearlings at Inglis Easter.
Stewart revealed that Tutta La Vita, a Southern Hemisphere 3-year-old filly, will compete in prominent American turf events under Correas. The goal is to prepare her for a summer campaign and potentially target the prestigious Breeders' Cup in the fall.
The choice of Correas as the new trainer stems from his experience with South American horses transitioning to North America. Stewart expressed confidence in Correas's ability to handle Tutta La Vita's transition effectively.
Tutta La Vita's most recent outing saw her finish eighth in the G2 The Roses S. at Doomben (Aus) on May 25. Stewart believes that bringing her to the U.S. could generate international excitement and interest among racing enthusiasts.
Furthermore, Stewart aims to foster international competition by facilitating the movement of horses between different geographies. He plans to send some of his U.S.-based horses to Australia for the spring season, to evaluate their performance and potentially expand their presence in Australian racing.
Overall, Stewart's decision reflects his strategic approach to enhancing his racing portfolio and promoting cross-border competition in the horse racing world.
