Sporting A Smile triumphed at Grand River Raceway

Sporting A Smile, driven by Sportswriter, secured her first harness racing victory in July 14th at Grand River Raceway. Starting from the rail, the filly settled into the pocket position behind Brydown Wait N See. As the race progressed, Sporting A Smile made her move on the backstretch, engaging in a fierce battle with the leader. Despite a late push from Twin B Flame, Sporting A Smile emerged victorious by a neck, finishing in 1:59.

Trained by Earl MacLeod and co-owned with breeder Clifton Hobbs, Sporting A Smile's win came in only her second start, following a fifth-place finish in the Prospect Series debut. Brett MacDonald, the driver, celebrated three wins on the day.
