Sportsline Achieves Significant Milestone
The harness racing stallion Sportsline, a son of Sportswriter, reportedly achieved a significant milestone by surpassing $300,000 in career earnings following an impressive performance in the co-featured pace at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on November 26. During the race, Sportsline maintained the lead throughout, with Tyler Borth guiding him through fractions of :28.4, :58.1, and 1:26.4. Despite the presence of other competitors, none posed a serious threat, and Sportsline accelerated on the far turn, establishing a considerable lead over Hollys Treasure, who finished second. Ultimately, Sportsline crossed the finish line four-and-a-half lengths ahead, clocking in at 1:55.2. Hollys Treasure, driven by Colin Kelly, claimed the second spot, while Taylors Credit, with Natasha Day in the sulky, rallied to take third.
With this victory, Sportsline improved his lifetime record to 33 wins out of 101 starts. The eight-year-old stallion has secured eight victories this year, including a notable win in the Bud and Ethel Fritz Memorial. Patrick Bissett, who trains for owner Craig Parrott of Windsor, conditioned him.
Bissett's successes continued with a one-two finish in the eighth race, where Larjon Lightspeed and Anchor So Reel, driven by Lorne House and Travis Henry respectively, showcased a thrilling battle, with Anchor So Reel prevailing by two-and-three-quarter lengths. Racing at The Raceway will resume on November 29 at 5:50 p.m. EST.
