Howard Taylor's Swan In Motion ($12.60, Victor Kirby) showcased an impressive burst of speed in the final stretch to secure a victory in the $30,405 Open Trot Wednesday (April 10) at Harrington Raceway.
Manatlas, who has won three consecutive races, quickly took the lead from post seven in :28.1 and held onto the top spot as they reached the half-mile mark in :57.2. The top contender, That Ole Bar Stool, quickly made a strong move from the outside, while Swan In Motion smartly positioned herself behind the cover horse, reaching three-quarters in 1:26.4. At that moment, the horses on the periphery gathered speed as That Ole Bar Stool took the lead, while Manatlas fell behind and Swan In Motion steadily closed the gap, ultimately overtaking That Ole Bar Stool at the finish line.
The stallion, trained by Dylan Davis, secured his third victory of the year at the age of seven. Swan In Motion boasts an impressive record of 34 wins and has accumulated nearly $720,000 throughout his illustrious career.
Ross Wolfenden, Victor Kirby, Trae Porter, and Art Stafford Jr. all won a pair of matches behind the wheel.
Racing will persist on a schedule from Monday to Wednesday.
