The Harrah's Philadelphia feature is all-class

Soon after, on Sunday, April 14, only the second program of the year at the southeast Pennsylvania oval, All Class won the $17,808 featured pace in 1:49.3, posting Harrah's Philadelphia's first sub-1:50 mile of 2024.

Throughout the card, numerous horses capitalized on a tailwind in the backstretch to make a scorching quarter and win, but David Miller kept the son of Heston Blue Chip hot all along. At the :26.3 opening station, Miller moved All Class past the early leader Dragon on the beach. In each split after that, Miller went faster than :28, with mid-fractions of :54.2 and 1:22. All Class held a 1-1/4-length lead at the finish, with Dragononthebeack, owned by Morrison Racing Stables, putting up a valiant but fruitless chase to the wire behind the Per Engblom trainee.

With two races under his belt, the win marked All Class's first in the four-year campaign and his eighth career triumph. All Class has a career bankroll of $159,670 and his time of 1:49.3 was barely 1/50th of a second slower than his lifetime best.

Todd McCarthy had three sulky victories to take first place in the driver's colony for the day. When racing resumes on Thursday, April 18, at Harrah's Philadelphia, the last was behind Literl Lad Hanover, who will have the chance to repeat. Thursday's card will be posted for the first time at 12:25 p.m.
