The Hippodrome 3R will host three-year-old harness racing pacers
The Hippodrome 3R in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, will host the second round of the Breeders Trophy Series for three-year-old harness racing pacers. The event includes four divisions (two for colts and two for fillies), each with a $7,500 purse.
Notable competitor Boomboom Tonight, the Quebec champion, is sired by Sportswriter and trained by Elisabeth Pothier. He’ll race from post six in the eighth race as the 6/5 morning line favourite, coming off a winning streak that includes a lifetime best of 1:55.
Challengers for Boomboom Tonight include Ambitious Mind (post 5) and HP Coaticook (post 8), who finished second to him previously.
In the colt divisions, Olaf Du Lac (post 1) and Kinnder Reptile (post 5) are strong contenders. Olaf Du Lac is coming off a recent victory in 1:57.1, while Kinnder Reptile boasts four wins in his last six races.
The pacing fillies will compete in the third and fifth races. The Heart Valley, with Marie-Claude Auger, is a recent winner moving from Ontario and will start from post two. In the second division, Art Of The Sport (post 3) is driven by Auger, while Wicked Discovery (post 5) also looks to contend after a recent win at H3R.
