The Red Mile hosted 31 races over the weekend, with notable performances in the $111,111 Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series (KYSSCS).

On Sunday, Better Is Nice, trained by Tony Alagna and driven by Andrew McCarthy, won the Follow Us On Twitter Hurdle at Cork. The 1/4 favourite clocked a lifetime-best 1:49.3, securing his second victory of 2024. He beat Copperfield by three-quarters of a length. Better Is Nice now has 20 career wins and earnings of $713,159.

In the freshman male pacers' KYSSCS division, Sippinonsearoc, driven by Yannick Gingras, won in 1:50.1, remaining unbeaten in his career. He narrowly defeated Louprint, with Blue Onyx finishing third.

On Monday, Super Chapter, driven by Dexter Dunn, continued his impressive form, winning his KYSSCS division for freshman trotters in 1:53. He overcame a slow start and trotted from third to first to secure victory. Super Chapter, purchased for $300,000, has now won three of four starts.

In the three-year-old male trotters' division, Luke The Spook, driven by Mattias Melander, upset as a longshot, recording a new lifetime best of 1:54. He came from behind to win, tracking down Bright Star and holding off Ways N Means for the top spot.

Live racing at The Red Mile resumes on Tuesday, August 6, featuring 18 races and the first $80,000 KYSS leg for three-year-old filly pacers. The first post is at 1 p.m.
