Timberlake will have a stallion career at WinStar Farm

Timberlake (Into Mischief), a 'TDN Rising Star' and Grade I winner at age two, will begin his stallion career at WinStar Farm next breeding season, with a stud fee set at $20,000 S&N, as announced in a press release from the farm on Thursday morning.

"Timberlake is a striking and impressive son of top sire Into Mischief, showcasing remarkable precocity with his victories in the GI Champagne and a runner-up finish in the GI Hopeful at just two years old," stated David Hanley, senior vice president of bloodstock services at WinStar Farm. "With his exceptional conformation and distinguished pedigree, we are eager to welcome him to WinStar."

Trained by Brad Cox and raced by Siena Farm and WinStar, Timberlake earned the 'TDN Rising Star' title after his second start, where he won by an impressive 9 1/4 lengths at Ellis Park. Following a second-place finish in the GI Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga, he captured the GI Champagne Stakes during the Belmont at the Big A meet. Highlighting his three-year-old season, Timberlake secured victory in the GII Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park, bringing his career earnings to $1,303,100.

Purchased for $350,000 at the 2022 Keeneland September Sale, Timberlake was bred in Kentucky by Vincent and Teresa Viola's St. Elias Stables. He is out of the stakes-placed Lookin At Lucky mare Pin Up (Ire), who is a half-sister to English group stakes winner Thomas Chippendale (Ire) (Dansili {GB}).

Timberlake's pedigree includes his second dam, All My Loving (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), which was Group 1-placed in Ireland. This extended family includes Irish Group 1 winner Quarter Moon (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), Yesterday (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), and Diamondsandrubies (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}).

"Timberlake comes from a highly productive European family that originates from Mumtaz Mahal (GB), a foundational mare for the Aga Khan's breeding empire," Hanley noted. "Her daughter Mumtaz Begum (GB) produced Nasrullah (GB), who was brought to America in 1950 by Claiborne. This line includes notable sires such as Grey Sovereign (GB), Bold Ruler, Secretariat, Spectacular Bid, Seattle Slew, A.P. Indy, and Nashua, who is also the broodmare sire of Mr. Prospector and Roberto. Additionally, another daughter, Mah Mahal (GB), produced Mahmoud (FR), and Northern Dancer's dam, Natalma, is a granddaughter of Mahmoud."
