Tisbury Stud purchased the Springland Farm

Tisbury Stud, led by Austin and Amanda Luttrell, has made a significant acquisition with the purchase of Springland, a 260-acre horse farm situated in Bourbon County, Kentucky. Established in 1962 by W.K. Taylor during his tenure as the general manager at Claiborne Farm, Springland has undergone various changes over the years, including parcels being sold to Hidden Brook and Beau Lane. However, it was Bill Nicholls, Taylor's grandson, who expanded the estate in the late 1990s.

Having initiated Tisbury Stud two years prior by leasing 130 acres, the Luttrells now aim to elevate their offerings by providing top-tier racehorse care, focusing on breeding, foaling, racetrack layups, and sales preparation.

Austin Luttrell, reflecting on this milestone, expressed his gratitude, stating, “We have an incredible farm, great clients, and a very solid team. I might be the last Kentuckian who grew up in a tobacco field to start a horse farm. It is a dream come true.” Austin brings with him a wealth of experience, having apprenticed under notable trainers such as Rusty Arnold, Christophe Clement, and Kiaran McLaughlin. He also gained valuable insights from his tenure with Magic Millions in Australia, followed by managerial roles at Denali Stud and Donamire Farm in Kentucky.

Amanda Luttrell, a lifelong equestrian and former show jumper, adds her expertise to the endeavour. Having previously been based in Middleburg, Virginia, and Wellington, Florida, she now looks forward to expanding the business alongside Austin.

Austin emphasises their commitment to success, stating, “Our top priority at Tisbury Stud is to get horses into the winner's circle.” With their combined passion, experience, and dedication, the Luttrells are poised to make a significant impact in the industry through their stewardship of Springland Farm.
