Wind Blown faces off against Woodmere Denny at Red Shores

The free-legged pacer Wind Blown faces off against the in-form Woodmere Denny in the Tuesday evening feature race at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway. The 11-dash card begins at 6 P.M., marking the return to racing at the Prince County oval following Old Home Week’s conclusion at Red Shores Charlottetown.

The feature event is Race 10, carrying a $3,200 purse. Wind Blown (by Mach Three) is the morning line favourite for Nova Scotia owners Doug Polley Jr. and Doug Polley Sr. The Polley family now has trainer Phil Sizer overseeing the free-legged pacer, with Paul Langille set to drive. Wind Blown, with 23 career wins, recently finished second in Charlottetown with a swift 1:53.4 mile and starts from post 3.

Woodmere Denny is in excellent form, coming into the race on a two-race win streak. He starts from post 4 with Dale Spence driving for trainer MacKenzie Spence. The husband-wife duo has seen Woodmere Denny capture back-to-back 1:54 victories since returning from Ontario in early August for Old Home Week.

Other contenders in the field include:

- Hunger Pangs (Brady Sweet)

- Starshipzodiac (David Dowling)

- Woodmere Ideal Art (Jason Hughes)

The Backstretch Beat favours Woodmere Denny to extend his winning streak:

"Woodmere Denny has been unstoppable with Spence in the bike, winning two straight races in 1:54. We predict he’ll notch his third consecutive win tonight."

The card also features the P.E.I. qualifying leg of the Gamester-Pinkney Cup in races 6 and 8. This competition is for drivers aged 30 and under with fewer than 100 career wins. Jaycob Sweet, Zach Conway, Luke Armstrong, Kyle Desroche, Brady Sweet, Kyle Mason, and Brett Clow will battle for the top four spots, securing a place in the August 27 final at Red Shores Summerside.
