Wittup is lucky with two remarkable two-year-olds

Jackson Wittup is riding high in the world of Alberta Standardbred racing, thanks to two remarkable two-year-olds: Custard Dolce and Momas Work Of Art. As part owner of both horses, Wittup is enjoying an unprecedented season with significant wins and record-setting performances.

Custard Dolce, a filly by Custard The Dragon, has already secured five consecutive stakes victories and established a track record with a stunning 1:54 mile at Century Downs, winning by a remarkable seven lengths in the $70,000 ASHA Filly Pace. She has accumulated earnings of $73,387 and continues to improve with each race, showcasing both her athletic ability and maturity.

Momas Work Of Art, a colt by Outrageous Art, has also had a stellar season, with three stakes wins and earnings of $52,400. Despite facing challenges, including a mishap behind the starting gate during the Century Casinos final, he has demonstrated resilience and speed, winning a division of the ABSS in 1:55.2.

Wittup's involvement in horse racing spans decades, including a 25-year tenure as racing secretary at Stampede Park. He partners with other owners to make his involvement feasible, as fun and shared experiences are his primary motivations, rather than profits.

Both horses are set to compete in important upcoming stakes events, and Wittup remains optimistic about their futures. He cherishes the support from the horse racing community and the joy that comes with standing in the winner's circle, regardless of ownership stakes. With a rich history of racing and a strong bond with these talented horses, Wittup is poised for an exciting fall season.
