Woodbine cancelled racing

Due to the anticipated extreme heat in the Toronto area on Sunday, Woodbine has decided, in consultation with the Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association and the veterinarian, to cancel Sunday's live racing for the safety of the horses and all participants.

According to Environment Canada, Sunday is expected to reach a high of 86°F with a 40% chance of showers. The Victoria Stakes has been rescheduled for Friday.

Live racing will resume on Thursday, with a high temperature of around 75°F and no rain expected through the weekend. Post time on Thursday is set for 4:50 p.m. EDT.
